At one time, Buck Howard (John Malkovich) played out his days in the spotlight. His impressive deeds as a mentalist extraordinaire – not to be mixed up with those of a simple conjurer - gained him a marquee act in Vegas and 61 shows on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show. In his personal modest opinion, his gifts make it on the far side of bare sleight of hand – he can interpret minds and hypnotize not only a individual someone but an full room of people!
