This article is for anyone interested in play Atari title Star Wars for Arcade 1983. The game was based around Star War Episode IV: A New Hope. It focuses on a space simulator of one of the final scenes destroying the Death Star. It is a 3-D scale projection with a Star Wars theme made by Atari. How can you go wrong. On top of that you even play the role of Luke Skywalker.

There are three parts to this game since all games in the early 80’s did not have a lot of memory or game length. The whole point of the game is to lead Luke Skywalker to shoot the vent destroying the Death Star.

Parts of the Atari Arcade Game

The first part of the game was engaging in fight between you “Luke Skywalker” and Darth Vader/ TIE Fighter pilots.

The second phase is when Luke reaches the surface of the Death Star and must shoot down as many Laser Towers as he can. If you manage to destroy all of the Laser Towers you will receive a handsome bonus.

Finally the last part is you have to shoot the exhaust vent on the Death Star destroying it. If you hit the exhaust vent without shooting anything else you receive a bonus for “Using the Force”. Then you replay the game on a harder difficulty each time you complete the third part of the Death Star.

Star Wars games are easy to find online for free to play from your browser window but to find this game you must specify Arcade games by Atari. It is a 3-D Projection Game. Also note that in the original Arcade game that the Voice Actors were actually the Actors from the movie. Even Chewie. For those of you who this inspired to relive the classic story of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope enjoy and good luck.
