Stepfather movie remake. Why?

This is my favorite 80s slasher movie. Remake of this movie looks like fail to me. What do you think. Are all these remakes of movies because writers have run out of ideas? I see a couple of remakes from movies at least 20 years old.

Maybe they asked for more quality in the past before they invested money to make the movies. These days it’s all in the millions and it’s all in the effects and scenery, not so much in strong stories.

  1. remakes are always the best. Better film editing, technology advancement, and better actors.

    60’s 13 ghosts vs. the 2002version

  2. Absolutely looks like FAIL double fail actually.Terry O’ Quinn was awesome as the Stepfather menacing creepy evil wicked intense and in your face.Plus all the Stepfather movies were rated R.WTF is up with these remakes now adays they are going against the tradition of the originals now we’ve got watered down unscary stupid PG-13 remakes. What a joke and what a letdown too.I’ll pass on this movie not worth the time to me anyways.

  3. I **** remakes, with the exceptions of the new Batman movies. Remakes are made to make money off disappointed fans. So that is why remakes usually suck, is because they are a money making excuse for a movie
